Mahdi Barkabian Zanjani is the founder of MBZ Compliance, a Rotterdam-based regulatory consultancy advising organizations on EU digital law, GDPR, AI Act, and NIS2. He holds dual LL.M. degrees from Leiden University and Shiraz University. He authored the Sovereignty Density Master Regulation (SDMR), a unified compliance framework that emerged from his Leiden thesis on control-based sovereignty, which anticipated the regulatory architecture underlying the EU Digital Omnibus.
