Mr. Davis is a seasoned and well experienced lawyer whose practice has surpassed 36+ years. Called to the Bar in Manitoba in June, 1989 Mr. Davis amassed legal expertise first in criminal defence work and then pivoted to providing his clientele with immigration law advice in Canada and some cross border cases that involved US immigration law and knowledge.
Mr. Davis continued with the expansion of his knowledge in the law and technology by attending the University of Toronto Faculty of Law obtaining his degree Global Professional LLM from 2019 – 2020 and then continued to York University Osgoode Hall Faculty of Law from 2022-2024 specializing in cybersecurity and privacy law.
The culmination of the additional education enabled Mr. Davis to be the founder and principal lawyer in the establishment of Threshold Law. The three pillars in this innovative law firm are: Business Investment, Cyber and Immigration.
Mr. Davis oratorical skills as a courtroom advocate positioned him well in representing clients before administrative tribunals like the Immigration and Refugee Board as well as numerous appearances before the Federal Court of Canada.
Threshold Law is devoted to providing legal expertise to start ups who need advice in cyber and privacy law, as well as establishing and sourcing health professionals from abroad to meet the demands of the Canadian North to better serve the indigenous communities health demands.
Threshold Law is also uniquely positioned to provide succession planning for local business owners to be able to meet business entrepreneurs from abroad who will buy the Canadian owned business and ensure their longevity in communities across Canada in rural and remote areas.
David is married with three beautiful children and enjoys playing a variety of sports such as tennis, golf and floor hockey and who also enjoys reading fiction and non fiction with a legal perspective.
