TP-Link Accuses Wi-Fi Rival Netgear Of ‘Smear Campaign’

TP-Link Accuses Wi-Fi Rival Netgear Of ‘Smear Campaign’

By Editorial Team

TP-Link Systems Inc. has filed a lawsuit in Delaware federal court, alleging that its rival Wi-Fi hardware maker Netgear Inc. is engaging in an “unlawful smear campaign.” The lawsuit claims that Netgear is falsely portraying TP-Link products as being compromised by the Chinese government, despite a recent settlement agreement where Netgear agreed to refrain from making disparaging statements about TP-Link’s business.

The legal battle between the two companies highlights the competitive nature of the Wi-Fi hardware industry and the importance of protecting a company’s reputation from false and damaging accusations.

In response to the allegations, Netgear has not yet publicly commented on the lawsuit filed by TP-Link. The case is expected to proceed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

Legal representation for TP-Link is being provided by the law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Morris Nichols. On the other hand, Netgear has not disclosed its legal representation at this time.

Both TP-Link and Netgear are prominent players in the telecommunications and technology sectors, known for their innovative Wi-Fi products and solutions. The outcome of this legal dispute could have significant implications for the competitive landscape of the industry.

For further details on the case, interested parties can access the court documents related to the complaint filed by TP-Link against Netgear.
