MONROE, La. – On October 21, 2026, United States Chief District Judge Terry A. Doughty sentenced Justavious K. “Tae Tae” Williams, 25, of Bastrop, Louisiana, to 336 months (28 years) in federal prison. Williams was convicted of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release.
According to court filings, from May 16, 2025, through October 9, 2025, Williams was an active participant in a methamphetamine trafficking organization. Law enforcement officials intercepted communications through a wiretap placed on a co-conspirator’s phone. These intercepted calls and messages revealed Williams’ involvement in acquiring and distributing large quantities of methamphetamine.
On October 1, 2025, intercepted communications indicated that Williams’ associates were arranging to pick up a substantial shipment of methamphetamine from Texas. Williams traveled to Garland, Texas, where agents observed him and a co-conspirator loading a bright orange suitcase into a vehicle.
After returning to Louisiana, the vehicle was stopped by Louisiana State Police (LSP). Williams fled the traffic stop, prompting a brief pursuit before both he and the co-conspirator were apprehended. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 25 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed within the suitcase.
Approximately one week later, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents executed a search warrant at a local residence where Williams was found alongside the same co-conspirator. The search yielded seven firearms and various controlled substances, including ecstasy pills, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
Behind the residence, agents discovered a cook lab trailer containing 20,000 methamphetamine pills and over three kilograms of powder methamphetamine.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana announced the sentencing.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the DEA, Louisiana State Police, and Monroe Metro Narcotics. The prosecution was led by Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford, with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan.
