Dr Volker Soyez is a solicitor and partner with the law firm of SGP Schneider Geiwitz Rechtsanwälte GmbH, where he heads the Brussels office. He obtained his High School Degree at the German School in Brussels in 1993. After studying in Frankfurt, Fribourg (Switzerland) and Madrid (state examinations in 2000 and 2002), he obtained his doctorate degree in 2002. Since then, he has worked as a solicitor in Frankfurt, Brussels, and Washington specializing in competition/antitrust law. He is a member of the Brussels and Stuttgart Bar Associations. Dr Soyez is a member of the board of Netzwerk Compliance e.V., where he has heads the working group on antitrust compliance. He is the founder and a member of the editorial board of the Global Competition Litigation Review (Sweet & Maxwell). Dr Soyez is the owner of a state-accredited mediation body for competition law related disputes. He is the author of more than 30 specialist publications on competition law topics and has represented parties in a number of landmark court cases, including various cases before the European Court of Justice.
