Nine professional models have taken legal action against a Denver nightclub by filing a federal lawsuit. The models allege that the nightclub utilized their photos for promotional purposes without obtaining their consent, resulting in damage to their reputation.
The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, claims that the nightclub used the images of the models to advertise its business without permission. The unauthorized use of their photos has led to reputational harm and distress for the models.
The legal complaint has been lodged by the Casas Law Firm on behalf of the models. The nightclub is accused of infringing on the intellectual property rights of the models by using their likenesses without proper authorization.
Among the companies named in the lawsuit are Instagram Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc., indicating that the photos were potentially sourced from social media platforms without the models’ knowledge or consent.
The lawsuit seeks compensation for the damages caused by the unauthorized use of the models’ photos and aims to hold the nightclub accountable for its actions. The case is currently under review in the federal court system, with further legal proceedings expected to follow.
