By Editorial Team
A Federal Circuit panel appeared unpersuaded Tuesday by an inventor’s arguments that the Patent Trial and Appeal Board should have ended reviews of computer-locating patents challenged by Google and Microsoft due to actions by LG in a related case, and that the board wrongly invalidated the patents.
The Federal Circuit is currently reviewing a case where an inventor is challenging the decisions made by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board regarding computer-locating patents that were challenged by tech giants Google and Microsoft. The inventor argues that the PTAB should have ceased the reviews of these patents due to actions taken by LG in a related case. Additionally, the inventor claims that the board erred in invalidating the patents in question.
Law360 is closely monitoring this case and will continue to provide updates as the Federal Circuit deliberates on the matter.
