Boise Man Receives 15-Year Federal Sentence for Producing Child Sexual Abuse Material

BOISE – Gregory Conan Williams, 41, of Boise, Idaho, was sentenced to 188 months (15 years and 8 months) in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a minor child, announced U.S. Attorney John C. Shirts.

U.S. Attorney Shirts emphasized the seriousness of the crime, stating, “Those who exploit children online will be found, prosecuted, and held accountable. This sentence sends a clear message that there are serious consequences for these crimes.”

The investigation began in January 2026 when the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received information from the Wharton Police Department in Wharton, New Jersey. Authorities identified a messaging and social media account belonging to Williams that was used to exploit a minor residing in New Jersey.

According to court records, Williams posed as a 16-year-old female on the social media platform and persuaded a 14-year-old victim to send sexually explicit images. In addition to coercing the minor, Williams sent hundreds of adult pornography images to the victim as part of his exploitation.

Williams was arrested by the FBI in February 2026 at his residence in Boise, Idaho.

Senior U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill sentenced Williams to 188 months in prison and ordered 15 years of supervised release following his incarceration. Williams will also be required to register as a sex offender as a result of his conviction.

U.S. Attorney Shirts acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the FBI and the Wharton Police Department in bringing the case to prosecution. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin C. Blackadar handled the prosecution.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006. The program coordinates federal, state, and local resources to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, focusing on locating, apprehending, and prosecuting offenders who exploit children via the internet, as well as identifying and rescuing victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood is available at www.justice.gov/psc.

In related sentencing announcements, Kory Ray Syverson, 51, of Mountain Home, Idaho, was sentenced to 112 months in federal prison for possession of child sexual abuse material, according to U.S. Attorney Shirts.
